| With this large floor puzzle children will become physically involved with learning. The students will learn that Illinois is next to Indiana by shape recognition accomplished by physically handling the state shapes. The learning process is much easier with something tangible to hold.Each state is provided with a removable name plate with state name, year of entry into union, order of entry into union, capital name. An activity guide is included. Major objectives are to practice hand-eye coordination, to identify and describe colors, shapes, and neighbor relationships, to develop problem solving skills, to practice positive and negative space matching, to understand the relationship of parts to a whole, to learn the state capitals and the date of entry into the union, to learn geography and historical data. When completed, the map is approximately 4’ x 7’. It is manufactured from easy cleaning , non-toxic EVA foam. |
